     Essiac is a natural non toxic drug free herbal remedy which contains no additives or preservatives. The botanicals used in Essiac have not been treated with herbicides or pesticides.

Medicinal Ingredients - Each 60 mL Contains:
Burdock (Arctium lappa) (root) ..... 901.9 mg
Sheep sorrel (Rumex acetosella) (leaves) ..... 179.4 mg
Slippery elm (Ulmus fulva) (bark) ..... 68.5 mg
Indian rhubarb (Rheum officinalis) (root) ..... 30.7 mg

Directions:
     One unit of Essiac (=approximately 43 grams) powder, the original proprietary herbal formula, makes approximately two litres.
Preparation by decoction:
     Add one unit of Essiac to approximately 2.5 litres of water in a covered vessel. Use stainless steel or glassware. Do not use an aluminum vessel.
     Bring to a boil then reduce to a simmer for 10 minutes stirring occasionally. Keep covered during this process.
     Remove from heat, keep covered, and let stand for four hours to attain maximum potency.
     Bring to a boil again the reduce to a simmer for five minutes stirring occasionally. Keep covered during this process.
     Remove from heat. Cover, refrigerate, and let stand for 6-8 hours to increase potency and to allow the sediment to settle out.
     Scald or dishwasher clean a glass or plastic container. Pour liquid out of the sediment, close, and store in a refrigerator. A small amount of sediment may be present in the Essiac liquid. Keep refrigerated. Do not freeze or microwave.
     Drink 60 mL every twelve hours. No food or drink one hour before or after taking Essiac.
     There will be sediment in the bottom of the vessel after the preparation. The sediment, when seperated from the Essiac, can be applied topically like a poultice to affected areas for skin problems or conditions twice daily.
